It is all about people and the experience they get
My journey with Human-Centred Design started still at university, around 2009, when I had the Design Thinking methodology and applied it with my group to design Dot, an accessible packaging and its merchandise/POS materials, rethinking a more inclusive experience for visually impaired people. I fell in love with this human-centric, empathic and strategic side of design, which also resonated with my personality and has shaped my career since.
With over 12+ years of work experience across São Paulo and London, I had the opportunity to apply those concepts in different areas of design (packaging, merchandising, research, customer experience, enterprise and service design - for print, digital and physical spaces), learning from people and the context, and collaborating with organisations to improve experiences and grow together:
From being immersed in the B2B environment, I learned to juggle multiple projects/stakeholders, deal with the complexity of the corporate world, and balance customers’ needs with business goals for better outcomes -> especially challenging due to the low design maturity and market-oriented culture.
From the freelancer/volunteer side, the opportunity to contribute towards social impact, more agency on project/stakeholder management, and enhance listening and inquisitive skills.
From lived experience, growing up in a humble background marked by inequality and being exposed to the complex/systemic challenges that affect the lives of people with fewer opportunities, I developed great adaptability, a systemic view and respect for life.
Being more a facilitator than the main character in a project, leaving that spot for those I design for/with, I found in Service Design and Systems Thinking the intersection where I thrive and can co-create towards a positive impact.

Who am I designing for? What? Why? How? Can we do it better?
